- New user interface for browsers and new version of the desktop app
- No longer possible to provide meeting-id in WebRTC-url.
- Support for more browsers
A: If you use the Cisco Meeting desktop app, consider upgrading to the 1.11 release currently available on the download page (link at the bottom of this article). We won't stop you from using older versions, but we won't be able to help with problems you might encounter while using those.
If you're using webrtc to join (browser) we recommend that you review the changes in the user interface (link below).
Details regarding the change:
We're upgrading our browser front end for Cisco-based virtual meeting rooms and making the 1.11 branch of the Cisco meeting app available. This includes support for more browsers (previously only Google Chrome was supported) and a new user interface for both browsers and desktop apps. For desktop (PC and Mac), version 1.11 of Cisco meeting app is now the version we support and recommend to use. If you're using version 1.9 or 1.10 - follow the link at the bottom of this article to get the .msi or .dmg files for upgrading (you can still use 1.9 of Cisco meeting app for a while if you prefer that but we won't be able to help out with issues).
After the upgrade, the user interface for browser and desktop apps on v1.11 will have the same look.
Important: Guest links that pre-fill the call-id will still work, but they will no longer pre-fill the call-id field. See this article for details:
If you want to check the new join flow for a browser guest, this article covers that:
In general, Chrome will remain the recommended browser, but after the upgrade, more browsers will be supported.
